Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon (2006)

It is Friday night and Tom opened this Mendoza, Argentinian Cabernet. We are reading the paper while dinner simmers. I made a pot roast this morning before work and it has been simmering all day in the crock pot.

The 2006 Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon is dark purple. The nose is potent with dark fruit, sweet spice with a touch of eucalyptus. It is soft in the mouth and has flavors of leather and red berries. The finish is long with aggressive, no-nonsense tannins. I purchased this wine at the A & L wine shop in Ann Arbor. (I surprised Tom with 6 bottles of big reds one night last week and this is one of the bottles.) This will be perfect with pot roast tonight.

Happy Friday everyone!
