We received this Terre di Ricaldone Barbera D’Asti 2005 in a wine-club shipment. We opened it last night, but I didn’t get a chance to write about it. I just finished the last of it and I loved it. This wine has the Italian characteristics I have come to enjoy and appreciate: acidic, dry, fruity but not overly so, and no sweetness. The tannins are firm.
Definitely my kind of wine. I am happy to know we have two more bottles of this one on hand. Exquisite!

Ruby red color, aromas of fruit, pepper and a hint of oak. It has a wonderfully long mouthwatering finish. Paired really well with baked penne.
Certainly would not mind having more of this one.

Tim, yes, this is a good one. How was the baked penne? Do you have a special recipe for this?

I did the semi-homemade thing. Cooked penne with an Italian Garden style jar sauce, basil and mozzerella. Bake 350 for about 20 min and the under the broiler until the cheese is a little bubbly and golden. Don’t for get the garlic bread or bruschetta. mmmmm
