Ginestière Coteaux du Languedoc (2005)

Ginestiere Coteaux du Languedoc 2005It is a Tuesday evening and I have pork chops simmering, along with potatoes, green beans and a salad ready to toss. Tom chose this wine because I was glued to the newspaper and Trigger was on my lap. It is understood in our household that whomever has a free lap has to get up from the chair, put down the newspaper,  and choose, open and serve the wine.

Tonight, we are having this Ginestière Coteaux dur Languedoc 2005, a wonderful French blend of Syrah and Grenache. This is a full-bodied red with aromas of thyme and licorice.  The taste is fruity yet sharp, (as in sharp cheese) with a taste  of pine and forest. The finish is very nice — raspberries and pine needles. Tom chose the right wine for our dinner tonight.
