Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet (2005)

Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet 2005This Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet 2005 from southeastern Australia is normally over $10 a bottle but Tom found it on sale today for $8. This wine is purple in the glass with a nose of oak, black cherries, bing cherries, and a touch of smoke. The finish is robust and lengthy with licorice and oak.

I made us a rather healthy martini tonight because I have an end-of-the-winter cold and Tom told me that “gin is the answer.” I’m sure he is right! Now we are having a glass of this lovely wine while I finish making our dinner. Cheers!

I am drinking this right this very minute, very nice!

sadly, I paid about $12 or so, IIRC…

Hi LL — Well, I’m sure it was worth the extra $2 for a lovely glass of this wine, right? It took a google search to discover what IIRC means, but now I know! (I’ll try to remember this correctly. . .)
    Thanks for your comment!

Buy it at Sams club for $7.80. Sometimes Costco carries it as well. I guarantee the price will drop now that the USD is 20% stronger against Aussi.
