Our son Tommy, a graduate student at Eastern Michigan University, came by for dinner last night. I asked him to choose a wine for dinner and he chose this one — my absolute favorite Michigan wine! (Smart son.) Tom and I are finishing the bottle tonight.
I’ve posted before on this wine (see previous posts here, here, and here) and nothing has changed. I still love it. What really impresses me now is that, even though I have had dozens and dozens of other wines, when I open this one, I am never disappointed. It always lives up to my high expectations.
Thank you, John Burtka – Cherry Creek Cellars wine maker!

Have you tried the 2003 Montage lately – WOW it is at its peak. It tastes like an finely aged $100 Bordeux!
You are not going to believe this, but it is true!
Barack and Michelle Obama served this to their dinner guest – Oprah last Saturday. Word is that they liked it and couldn’t believe that it was from Michigan.
We are finally moving in to the new winery building on US 12 this weekend!

Hi John, I had not heard about this; how great is that? How did our president elect happen to come by your Michigan wine, do you know? That is very cool.
Okay, you’ve convinced me. We’ll open one of our precious remaining bottles of Montage this weekend. I can’t wait. I love this wine.
Can you tell me more about where your new winery will be?
