We had a small amount of Little Penguin Shiraz left over from a few nights ago and I volunteered to finish the bottle. I’m going to be honest: this is too sweet and too much like cough syrup for my taste. I would rate this wine as below average.

Thanks…you’ve saved me a few dollars and also an unpleasant experience! The lesson here: a cute label doesn’t necessarily mean the wine will be good.

Vicki — you are right about that! It’s great to get your comments. . .let me know which wine you choose the next time you purchase a bottle!

My latest is an Australian wine: McWilliams Cabernet Sauvingon 2005 that is usually priced at around $12 but was on sale for less than $10 at my local grocery. The LABEL says it has the taste of black currants, vanilla and oak with a “fine tannic structure.” My TASTE BUDS simply tell me that I enjoyed it, both with cheese and crackers after work and also with a roast beef dinner. Let me know if you try it. VickiV

I tried this wine three times and it is great. I cannot understand how you could say that is not a good wine. It is a great deal, specially having a very afordable price. Its taste is great and really aromatic. No offense, but you are 100% wrong about this wine
